Who Is Coming to Help
The presentation from the September 19th, 2024 Stake training meeting.
Six Areas of Preparedness
During the September 19th meeting, we discussed the need for individual families to be self-reliant, and not to only plan on assistance from the government or some other group during an emergency. To help with that goal, the Self-Reliance Committee extended the following suggestion:
As a Ward Council, choose one or more areas for your ward that will enhance your ward family's emergency supply and skill improvement. Encourage, train, and work with your ward families to improve their self-reliance level.•Spiritual Preparedness
•Family Communication Plan
•Alternative Energy
•Food, Water, Cash, and Cooking
•First Aid
•Vital Document Preservation

Practice Together Before We Need It
Participate in the weekly radio practice network by selecting Stake1 on your radio. An announcement will be given for the Parkway Area Emergency Radio Network at 4:25 pm. The practice net will begin at 4:30 pm with roll call by zones (zones correspond to ward areas, but since this is a neighborhood network, we limit church related terminology). The net control conducts roll call, asks for business, or announcements, and then signs off. Net control remains on-line for an additional 5 minutes to answer any other questions or to help with technical issues. This practice net occurs each Sunday, except holiday weekends.
