Preparedness Drill Information

Purpose: To have each ward conduct a communications drill to insure that ward leadership and interested neighbors understand their primary and secondary assigned frequencies and how to use their radios to contact one another in the event of an emergency.'

Time: Window Cards in place by 9 am. EOCs operational from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Goals:

RDAP (Rapid Disaster Assessment Plan) window card and Area Captain evaluation
Activation of Ward Emergency Operations Centers
Emergency Communications evaluation via GMRS radios.

Consolidated Ward Results

October 6, 2022

8 Wards participated in a stake-wide drill under the following drill conditions:

Telephone and internet communications were down.
Each ward activated an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) from 2 pm to 7pm.
Communications for the drill were performed utilizing GMRS and ham radio frequencies. The frequencies were monitored between 2 pm and 7 pm. Hourly contact was made with the stake EOC.
Neighborhoods were advised to use their colored window or RDAP cards.
Each ward's Area Captains surveyed their neighborhood area for RDAP card use and reported to their EOC.
Each EOC reported results to the stake EOC.
